A Day Out to a Lighthouse and a Waterfall

We spent a day in early October exploring the coast. Our first stop was this viewpoint looking out at a lighthouse perched on a high, green cliff. The ocean was a deep, restless blue, with white waves constantly breaking against the rocks at the base of the headland. You could just see the path winding along the top of the bluff out to the point. We just stood there for a while, taking in the scale of it.

Later in the day, we headed inland. The landscape shifted completely, becoming dense with lush foliage. The destination was a powerful double waterfall that we could see from a roadside overlook. It was impressive, watching the sheer volume of water cascading down the rock face into the dark pool below.

It was a simple day out, but one with a lot of contrast—from the wide-open, windswept coastline to the enclosed, green canyon of the falls. It felt like we saw two completely different worlds in the span of a few hours.
