A Desert Wedding Weekend with Friends

We got away for a long weekend in mid-May for a friend's wedding out in the desert. The first order of business after dropping our bags was getting into the pool. The sun was bright and hot, and it felt good to just float and look up at the mountains.

One evening we ended up at a restaurant with live entertainment, which was an unexpected treat. But the main event was the wedding itself. The reception was outdoors on a big grassy lawn, with string lights overhead as the sun went down. It was a relaxed party, with people playing cornhole and just hanging out. It was great to see everyone together for the toasts later in the evening.

The whole trip was a great excuse to catch up with a big group of friends. We spent the last morning the same way we started the weekend: soaking up some sun on the lounge chairs before it was time to head home.
