A Family Christmas Celebration in Tahoe

We spent the days leading up to Christmas in Tahoe this year. I always like pulling out the old decorations, like a small framed photo from a past holiday, reminding us of celebrations past. The nights there were cold and clear, with the snow on the pine trees lit up against a deep blue twilight sky.

The highlight was a visit from Santa himself. He made himself comfortable right by the Christmas tree with his sack of gifts. The kids were a little hesitant at first, but their shyness quickly turned to excitement as he started handing out presents. We made sure to get a few group photos to remember the moment—even the dog posed for one.

After Santa left, the house felt quiet and cozy. We spent the rest of the evening by the wood-burning stove, enjoying the warm glow and the lights of the tree. It was a simple, perfect way to celebrate the holiday with family.
