Early Season Turns on a Bluebird Day in Tahoe

Bright sun over snowy mountains and dense evergreen trees, with ski tracks and two prominent lift cables crossing.

Made it out for a day on the slopes on December 4th. It was a perfect bluebird day, with a bright, cold sun and not a cloud in the sky. The ride up the lift offered clear views of the snow-covered ridges and pines.

From the top, the visibility was endless. Just range after range of snowy mountains stretching out under that deep blue sky. The air was crisp and everything looked sharp in the winter light.

I made my way over toward the run with the classic "Lake View" sign. It's always a good landmark on a clear day like this, pointing the way to one of the best vistas on the mountain.

The view itself didn't disappoint. The lake was a patch of deep, dark blue nestled in the valley, a stark contrast to the white and green of the surrounding forests and slopes. It's a perspective you can only really get from up here. The rest of the day was just about enjoying the turns on some nice early-season snow.
