A Few Holiday Snapshots from December 2014
December 2014 was full of the usual holiday rush. We had a few parties and gatherings with friends, getting dressed up and posing for photos in front of the Christmas tree. The house was always warm and filled with light from the decorations. It was nice to catch up with everyone before the end of the year.
The season is always a big deal for the kids, of course. There was the requisite trip to see Santa, which resulted in this classic photo of my daughter sitting in the big red chair, looking a little bit mesmerized. Back at home, our Elf on the Shelf was getting creative. One morning we found him peeking out of a snowman made from toilet paper rolls, holding a little sign. A simple, funny moment.
There were other kid activities mixed in, too. I remember this one particularly bright, sunny day with my daughter's youth group. They all lined up in their blue vests for a group photo. One of the girls wore a Santa hat, the only real giveaway that it was December and not just another clear day in the Bay Area. They all stood there, squinting into the sun and trying to hold their pose.
