A Thanksgiving Day at Home with Toys and Turkey

A quiet Thanksgiving at home in the Bay Area, late November 2014. The morning started with pajamas and a new construction toy set spread out on the floor. It kept her occupied for a good while, concentrating on building colorful structures by the big glass doors.

Later, the main event began. She sat at the kitchen counter, offering her supervision as the turkey was prepped. A tablet provided the real entertainment, propped up right next to the bird. Outside, the patio was covered in fall leaves, but the sun was bright.

After getting dressed up in a festive red shirt and a white headband, we spent some time outside in the yard. The light was nice and warm for late autumn. The day's main course spent its time on the rotisserie on the grill, slowly roasting away outside. A pretty low-key holiday, all things considered.
