A Few Days Camped in Tahoe National Forest

Took the WoollyBear out for a few days camped in Tahoe National Forest, close enough to home that the drive barely counts. Set up in a stand of big pines with the trailer behind the Jeep, tent popped, bike hung off the back with a flannel draped over it.

Most of the days went to poking around the reservoirs up here. The water is down — you can see the bare ring of shoreline everywhere, sand and rock showing where trees usually meet the water. Still plenty of lake, though. One afternoon we ended up below a bald granite peak across a narrow arm, whole slope scattered with scrub pines, one small cloud parked next to the summit like it was assigned there.

Wound back along a ridge above the last reservoir before heading in, water flat and dark blue through the trees.
