A Quiet September Morning on the Lake and in the Hills
Woke up early on Saturday to catch the sunrise. The lake was perfectly still, with a layer of mist rising off the water and reflecting the early morning clouds. It was completely quiet out.
An hour later, the sun had burned through the mist, leaving a perfect, clear blue sky. It was too good a day to stay on shore, so I got the boat out on the water. The ripples were the only thing disturbing the surface as I paddled around the edges of the lake.
After spending some time on the water, I went for a walk through the nearby meadows. I wasn't expecting to run into a massive flock of sheep moving through the valley, but there they were, hundreds of them grazing under the mountains.
It was just one of those simple, perfect early fall days close to home. I found a good spot with the dog to just sit on a log by the water for a while before heading back.
