A Halloween Weekend with Friends Back in 2017

Revisiting some photos from a Halloween weekend in late October 2017. The evening started at dusk, and the neighborhood was already glowing with decorations. I remember posing with a giant, illuminated inflatable figure in the front yard, lit by purple and orange lights against the fading blue sky. My costume for the night was a mermaid.

Soon, friends started to arrive. My sailor showed up, and then Batman made an appearance for a few photos before we all headed inside. It was a pretty good group of costumes that year.

We managed to get everyone together for a group shot indoors. We had a mermaid, a sailor, Batman, Wonder Woman, and a couple with fantastic skeleton and calavera makeup. It was just a casual get-together at the house, a pretty standard start to a holiday evening.

The night didn't end there, though. A few of us decided to go out for a bit, still in full costume. We ended up at a local alehouse, where the sailor and the skeleton found some comfortable leather chairs and settled in for a conversation. It's funny to see these characters just sitting and talking like it's any other night.
