A Holiday Weekend on the Water in Tahoe
A few days at home over the Fourth of July weekend. The mornings started with that familiar view through the pines, looking out over the lake. Evenings were calm, watching the sky change and the boats settle in along the shore for the night.
We kept meals simple, mostly grilling. Afternoons were for getting out on the water. It was busy, as you’d expect for the holiday, with boats dotting the entire lake. From the driver's seat, the goal was just to find some open water.
We spent some time tubing, cutting a wide wake across the deep blue water. You could see other people doing the same, and the occasional parasailer high up against the clouds. It was a pretty typical summer holiday scene here — just a lot of people out enjoying the sun and the cold water of the lake.
