A Late June Day on the Water in Tahoe
We took advantage of a perfectly clear day in late June to get out on the water. The sun was high and bright, making the lake incredibly blue and the water near the shore transparent. From out in the middle, the views of the surrounding mountains and forests were uninterrupted under a huge, cloudless sky. It felt like a classic Tahoe summer day had finally arrived.
It was calm for the most part, with just a light chop on the surface that sparkled in the sun. A few seagulls were out, flying low over the water, probably looking for fish. They always seem so at home out here, gliding just above the waves.
Our son was with us, bundled up in his life vest and enjoying the sun and the movement of the boat. The bright light and a bit of wind gave his hair that classic windswept look as he watched the water go by.
It was just a simple afternoon on the lake, the kind of day that defines summer up here. The sun was strong, catching the water and creating bright flashes as we moved. A simple outing, but a good one.
