A Late Spring Walk Along the River and Reservoir
A simple walk on a mid-May evening. I followed the river for a while as the sun started to get low. The water was moving quickly over the rocks, lined by willows and pines just starting to fill out for the season. The sky was a mix of blue patches and scattered clouds, creating some nice light on the water.
Looking upstream, you could just make out the top of the dam that holds back the reservoir. The whole area feels defined by the water and how it's managed. It's a familiar landscape around here.
I ended up near the reservoir itself just as the sun was dipping behind the mountains on the other side. The clouds that had been around all afternoon lit up for a few minutes. It was a quiet end to the day, just watching the light fade over the still water.
