A Mid-July Weekend on the Lake

A regular mid-July weekend at home. I started off with a walk up to a small pond, where the water was still and reflecting the tall pines against a perfectly clear sky. It was quiet up in the woods before heading down to the lake for the rest of the day.

The lake itself was the opposite of quiet. It felt like every boat in the area was out on the water. Looking out from the beach, it was just a sea of white boats anchored all over the bay, with the mountains in the distance still holding onto a few patches of snow. The water was a deep blue and a little choppy in the afternoon sun.

Later, the scene shifted to one of the lodges with its rows of beach cabanas. As the sun started to dip behind the mountains, the light got softer, but boats were still scattered across the water. The next morning was much calmer, with glassy water by the docks before the day's activity really began. Just another standard summer weekend here.
