A Mother's Day Weekend of Family and Home Projects
A Mother's Day weekend spent at home. It started with beautiful flowers—a bright mix of sunflowers and roses, and another with white roses and pink lilies. The evenings were quiet and clear, warm enough to sit out by the pool with the string lights on, watching the city lights come on in the distance.
The days were a mix of productive and lazy. We tackled a painting project in one of the bedrooms, getting the first coat of white up on the walls. There was also plenty of downtime, mostly spent napping in the hanging chair on the porch, sometimes with the cat for company. At some point, we pulled out old family photos, which always feels like the right kind of thing to do on a day like this.
The weekend ended with a bit of chaos in the best way. We decided to try some bright pink hair dye in the kitchen. It got everywhere, of course, but the result was a success, judging by the smile.
