A Quiet August Afternoon on the Water in Tahoe

We spent an afternoon in early August just posted up in beach chairs on the sand. It was a perfect day for it—warm and sunny, with big summer clouds building up over the mountains across the lake.

The water was incredibly calm, and a few sailboats were anchored just offshore. It was peaceful just watching them drift around. The lake was that deep, clear blue it gets in the middle of summer.

Eventually, I had to get in the water. It was crystal clear, and you could see every rock on the bottom. It felt good to just stand in the shallows for a while.

Later in the day, we walked over to a nearby marina. The light was starting to change as the afternoon wore on. We just watched the boats come and go and looked out over the docks towards the open water. A simple, classic Tahoe summer day.
