Quiet Days on the Water in Early August

A couple of clear days at the beginning of August. We spent most of our time out on the water, with the boat tied up to the dock and ready to go from morning until evening. The lake was calm and the sun was bright.

Back inside, it's all wood paneling and local history. The walls are covered with old black and white prints of Truckee and the lake from over a century ago. There's also a definite bear theme going on, from a painting of a family of them in a motorboat to carved wooden ones scattered around the property.

We took the boat out again as the sun went down. The sky turned an intense, fiery orange over the mountains for a little while before fading. It was a good way to end the day, just drifting on the water and watching the light change.
