A Quiet Sunday Kayaking on the Lake

Spent the last Sunday of July out on a lake near Tahoe. The sky was full of big, slow-moving clouds, which made for incredible reflections on the glassy surface of the water. It was calm and quiet when I got out there, perfect conditions for a solo paddle.

The surrounding landscape was hazy in the distance, just layers of tree-lined hills and mountains against the overcast sky. I just paddled around for a while, taking it all in. It's a different perspective seeing the shoreline from the middle of the lake, feeling the slight chop as the wind picks up a little.

It’s a simple way to spend an afternoon, just me and the kayak. The light kept changing, shifting between bright sun and soft, gray light. A good, quiet day that felt a world away from everything else, even though it was just a quick local outing to close out the month.
