A Quiet Christmas Day at Home, 2020
Christmas in 2020 was a quiet one, spent entirely at home. The morning was slow, centered around the tree in the living room. We opened presents on the couch, still in pajamas, with the cats weaving in and out of the wrapping paper and boxes. They seemed as interested in the new toys as we were.
Most of the day was spent lounging. The kids got some things they were really excited about. There was a black-and-white hoodie with a matching stuffed bear, which was an immediate hit. The big gift was a new graphics card for a computer build, which prompted a lot of planning for the rest of the afternoon.
The rest of the day was pretty low-key. As evening came on, the sun went down over the neighborhood. Looking out at the hills, all the houses had their own holiday lights on. It was a nice, peaceful way to end the day.
