Christmas Decorations Up Before Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is still a few days off, but the inflatables went up in the front yard anyway. No point waiting when the boxes are already in the garage.

The lineup this year: the big Santa with his Merry Christmas sign by the walkway, the two Noel candles flanking the steps, the wagon full of dogs in Santa hats, and the dragon holding a mug of cocoa. The dragon is the one people slow down for. A green dragon with red wings has nothing to do with Christmas, and that is exactly why it stays.

Went back out after dark to check everything lit properly. The color projector splashes red and blue all over the front of the house, and the dragon's cocoa mug glows from the inside. A few strings of lights on the plants by the porch filled in the gaps.

Seventy degrees and sunny out back by the pool while all this went on, which never stops feeling like cheating in late November. The umbrellas are still up. Nobody has told the yard it's almost December.
