A Quiet Christmas Spent at Home in Tahoe
Christmas this year was a quiet affair, spent at home. We kept the fire going for most of the day, which cast a nice glow next to the lights on the tree. With the presents all wrapped and waiting, there wasn't much else to do but relax and enjoy the stillness of the house. It was a simple, calm holiday.
The next couple of days were incredibly clear and cold. I stepped out to a view of the snow-capped mountains rising up behind the neighborhood. The air was crisp, and the sky was a deep blue with just a few clouds. Down below, the grass in the park was brown and dormant for the winter, and the white fence stood out against it.
It’s a specific kind of quiet that settles in after the holiday itself is over. Just the warmth of the house contrasting with the sharp, cold beauty of the landscape right outside.
