Dusk, Snow, and String Lights in Tahoe
It was that time of day in mid-December when the sky turns a deep, saturated blue right after sunset. I was out for an evening walk and passed by the Craft & Logic Taproom. Its patio heaters and strings of Edison bulbs were on, casting a warm glow against the cold air. Through the windows, you could see wreaths hanging, making the whole place look pretty inviting.
I kept walking as the last of the daylight faded. It’s quiet around here before the main holiday rush. There was a light dusting of old snow on the rooftops, just enough to brighten things up in the low light. Many of the old houses along the street had their holiday lights on, simple strands of white lights lining their long porches and railings.
The air was crisp and still. Looking up past one of the snow-dusted gables, a thin crescent moon was already visible. It was just a simple, quiet walk around town, watching the lights come on as night settled in.
