A Quiet June Evening at Home

A quiet evening at home in late June. I spent some time just documenting the space, which I don't do often enough. It started in the kitchen, where I had a pot on the induction stove. The kitchen is clean and modern, with white cabinets and new appliances, a pretty straightforward space to work in.

The whole house has this mid-century modern feel, built around a central courtyard. At night, with the lights on, you can see right through the glass walls to the plants and the trunk of a big tree outside. It blurs the line between indoors and out in a way I really appreciate.

I wandered through the other rooms, taking photos of the details. The spare bedroom, the small dining area. There's a lot of interesting art around, like the colorful geometric paintings that stand out against the dark walls. I've always liked the contrast of a modern piece in an ornate frame. Even the bathroom has a certain clean aesthetic, with the marble countertop and vessel sinks. Just a simple night spent noticing the things I'm usually too busy to see.
