A Quiet October Day at Home with New Kittens

October 24, 2003. This was the day we brought home two kittens. Most of the afternoon was spent just watching them settle in. They immediately took to the big brown couch, treating it as their home base. There was a lot of cautious exploring followed by long, serious naps.

The two of them, one grey-and-white and the other black-and-white, were inseparable from the start. They spent most of the day piled on top of each other, sleeping in the warm indoor light. It was a pretty quiet and peaceful introduction to life with them.

That is, until one of them needed a bath. The little black-and-white one was not pleased with the situation at all. The last photo from that day is of him looking like a spiky, drenched, and thoroughly betrayed creature. It was a messy but necessary end to an otherwise very calm day.
