Summer Afternoon Boating and Tubing on Tahoe
Took the boat out for a summer afternoon of boating and tubing. Before we even left the dock the kids climbed all over everything — one of them planted in the driver's seat hauling on the wheel like it might actually do something, the other two sitting on the swim platform with popsicles while the tube bobbed on its rope alongside.
Out on the water we ran the WOW tube most of the afternoon, trading off riders while the kids knelt backwards on the rear bench to watch and shout. One of them spent a whole run standing on the seat, life jacket cinched tight, hair straight sideways in the wind.
By late afternoon the haze had thickened toward the pass — smoke from somewhere, the ridgelines going gray behind it. We kept pulling the tube anyway. The dog wedged itself under somebody's feet near the console and stayed there.
