Easter at Home in Walnut Creek
Easter at home this year, no traveling. The dogs and the cat claimed the bed early and stayed there most of the morning, the puppy up on the pillows like he owned the place.
We dyed eggs — eight made it into the carton, one wax-crayon star that turned out better than expected on the teal one. Some of the hard-boiled ones went straight into egg salad on toast, with the extra yolk crumbled over the top. One dyed egg ended up on the plate too, keeping the plastic ones in the basket company along with a purple plush Peep.
The kid made a Happy Easter poster in marker: a green bunny under a rainbow, a basket of decorated eggs, a butterfly. The green bunny looks a lot like the Peep. It's up on the counter now next to the real basket.
