A Quiet Week of Salt Air and Slow Days

The end of March bled into the beginning of April, and most of our days looked pretty similar. The routine was simple: find a spot on the sand, sometimes under the shade of a thatched roof palapa, and just watch the water. The sea was incredibly calm most of the week, with just small waves washing up ashore.

We'd watch the occasional boat pass by on the horizon. The light would shift throughout the day, from bright and clear to the warm, hazy gold of sunset. One evening, we watched a boat head in as the sun went down, leaving just a silhouette on the water.

There was time for short walks, too. Down the coast, we passed some old stone structures tucked into the trees and a few small beach restaurants like Playa Bonita. Quirky, hand-painted signs were scattered around, pointing the way to places like 'Rasta's Freedom in Paradise'. It was a quiet stretch of time, dictated mostly by the sun and the tide.
