A Simple August Camping Weekend in the Forest
We got away for a quick overnight trip this past weekend, not too far from home. We found a great spot in the forest and set up our little compound with the travel trailer and a couple of tents. The mid-August sun was bright and warm, filtering through the tall pines.
Our dog wasted no time claiming the best seat, a yellow camping chair set right in a patch of sun. He seemed perfectly content to just watch everyone get settled in.
As the afternoon wore on, we got the campfire going. It wasn't long before we were all gathered around the fire ring, just relaxing and talking as the light started to fade. It's the best part of camping—no real agenda, just sitting by the fire with friends.
We set up the canopy over the picnic table and strung up some lights, which made a nice little hub for the evening. Just a simple, easy weekend spent outside with friends and family. Sometimes that's all you need.
