A Still November Day and Its Reflections

Found myself by a lake on a Sunday afternoon in early November 2007. It was one of those perfectly still days with absolutely no wind, leaving the water's surface as smooth and reflective as glass.

The entire hillside on the far side was a mosaic of peak autumn foliage. The mix of reds, oranges, and brilliant yellows was incredible, especially against the few trees that were still green or already bare. The reflection was so clear it was almost disorienting, a perfect, slightly darker copy of the forest above.

I spent a good while just standing by the water's edge, taking in the scene. The light was even and bright, which made the colors feel saturated. I took a few different compositions of the same view, captivated by the symmetry of the hill and its mirror image in the water. It was a simple, quiet afternoon.
