A Summer Day of Goats, Beaches, and Balloons
This was one of those packed summer days from late July in 2008, just bouncing between different spots around home. The day started with some outdoor time on the grass, playing with a big orange balloon and other toys in the bright sun. We also made a stop at a place with animals, and I remember the kids feeding goats carefully out of little paper cups.
From there, we must have headed to the beach. It was warm and sunny enough for swimsuits and sun hats. The water was shallow and calm enough for wading with a watering can, and there was plenty of sand for buckets and shovels. I found this shot of her sitting in the sand with her little plastic toys, which feels like a very specific memory of that age.
The day ended with a group of us somewhere with tall trees. The sun was going down, backlighting everyone in this final silhouette. It felt like a full, varied day, all within a short drive from home.
