A Summer Drive Along the Michigan Shore
It was one of those perfect early summer days in Michigan, back on June 10, 2006. The sky was a solid, cloudless blue, and the lake was just as vibrant. I spent the afternoon driving along the coast, taking in the wide-open views from the road that runs right alongside the water.
The marina was already full for the season, packed with sailboats waiting for a good wind. It's a classic sight around here once the weather turns. The water itself was incredibly calm, especially closer to the shore.
A few boats were already out enjoying the day. I watched one particular sailboat anchored a little ways out, its mast standing tall against the trees on the opposite shore.
I eventually found a spot to park the maroon car on a grassy slope overlooking a smaller bay. It was a good vantage point to see all the dinghies and sailboats tied up along the wooden docks. Just a quiet Saturday spent by the water.
