A Sunny Day Walking Through London in Early June

I spent a day in London on June 4th. The weather was clear and warm, and the streets were busy with red buses, black cabs, and Union Jack flags hanging over the road.

The sun brought everyone out to the parks. I walked through Hyde Park, where people were spread out on the grass and in deck chairs by the Serpentine. The lake itself was covered in dozens of little blue paddle boats, which seemed to be the main activity for the afternoon.

I continued my walk over to Buckingham Palace. A large crowd was gathered in front of the gates and around the base of the Victoria Memorial. The golden statue on top was bright against the completely clear sky. From there, I cut through St. James's Park, which offered a nice view of the London Eye across the lake.

I made my way towards Westminster for a classic view of Big Ben before finishing the day with a walk through one of the covered shopping arcades. The light coming through the arched glass ceiling was a nice contrast to the direct sun outside.
