A Sunny Late June Day at the Beach
A classic Bay Area beach day back in late June of 2009. The sun was out, which isn't always a guarantee around here, and we found a good spot on the sand with a group of friends.
The main activity for the kids quickly became burying each other in the sand. They were perfectly happy to be stuck up to their chests, grinning and covered in a layer of grit. We had all the standard gear spread out on the blankets: buckets, shovels, a picnic basket, and plenty of towels.
It was a pretty typical scene for this beach. Looking around, you could see other groups enjoying the sun, some people closer to the water, and the houses perched up on the cliffs overlooking the scene. The waves were rolling in, and the sky was a hazy, bright blue. Just a simple, good day spent outside with friends before the summer fog decided to return.
