Bounce Houses and Sprinklers for the Fourth of July

We spent the Fourth of July back in 2009 at some kind of community celebration in a local park. The main attraction for the kids was an entire field full of inflatable bounce houses. The weather was bright and sunny, a perfect day for an outdoor event.

Our daughter was immediately drawn to a primary-colored bounce house, and she was just a blur of pink, jumping with pure joy. It was a classic summer scene, with kids running everywhere and parents watching from the grass. The event had a whole collection of inflatables, from a big princess castle with a slide to a giant dalmatian dog structure.

After getting thoroughly bounced-out, we found a small water feature area nearby. It was just a concrete pad with some simple sprayers, but it was the perfect way to cool off in the afternoon sun. She ran through the water until she was soaked, a simple and perfect end to a holiday outing.
