Lunch and Kite Flying on a Sunny Saturday
A simple Saturday in June 2009. We started with lunch on an outdoor patio, making the most of the warm weather. The sun was bright, shining through the leaves of the plants around us. It was one of those easy, pleasant meals where you just sit and enjoy the day.
After we ate, we headed out to one of the big grassy fields by the water. The sky was huge and blue, with just a few scattered clouds. It's a popular spot, with cars parked all along the edge of the lawn, but there's always more than enough space for everyone.
It turned out to be a perfect day for flying a kite. A steady breeze was coming in, enough to get it airborne without much effort. Our daughter, in her plaid dress, took charge of the string. She was completely focused, watching the kite climb higher and higher against the blue sky.
