Dressed Up Two Days Before Christmas

Two days out from Christmas, so the green velvet dress came out, plus the white bow, which stayed in the hair longer than I would have bet. The kid spent a while at the big tree first, finger to the mouth, sizing up the blue swirled ornament and the little elephant hanging under it without quite committing to touching anything.

The small tree by the fireplace was a different story. The pink ball came off its branch and got a thorough inspection, and the treble clef nearly did too. Nothing broke.

We finished in the yellow chair by the tree, the kid on mom's lap, both of them dressed up for once at the same time. A candy cane appeared near the end and that was more or less it for sitting still. Christmas in two days.
