Late November Days by the San Francisco Bay

A few quiet days at home at the end of November. The city was under a persistent haze, the skyline muted behind the green of the nearby trees. I spent some time down by the water, just watching the bay.

The Golden Gate Bridge was a constant presence, sometimes faint in the distance, other times framed perfectly from a rocky beach. The tide was out, leaving a wide stretch of dark sand. It wasn't exactly warm, but it was calm enough to just walk along the shore.

There were always a few sailboats out on the water, their white sails catching whatever light broke through the overcast sky. It's a different kind of energy than the summer sailing scene. The cliffs along the coast were a mix of green and brown, showing the change in seasons. It was all pretty standard for this time of year—a peaceful, slightly grey stretch of days before winter really set in.
