A Week of Pool Lights and Sunny Days
It was a quiet week at home in early November. The days were consistently sunny and clear, and we spent a good amount of time in the backyard, overlooking the hills and the neighborhood below. The pool floats were still out, but the water was getting pretty cold. Mostly we just sat by the edge or used the hot tub in the afternoons.
The evenings were nice and calm. We'd watch the sunset behind the fence, which cast a bright orange glow over everything. Afterwards, we would turn on the lights in the pool. They could change colors, and some nights the water would be a vibrant purple or green, reflecting off the patio. It was peaceful just watching the lights on the water.
We did a bit of work around the yard. The red-hot poker flowers were still looking good. We also drove over to a nursery one afternoon to pick out a new tree for the garden. Just a standard stretch of days at home, enjoying the last of the warm weather before winter really set in.
