Pool Lights and Sunny Days at Lake San Marcos
November and the pool is still the center of everything here. The floats haven't been put away, the spa got a run in the late afternoon, and the water is holding on to enough warmth to make all of it worth keeping open.
We went by the nursery to look at trees for the slope behind the fence — a strawberry tree in a big box, already flowering, that would fill the bare corner if we can get it up the hill. Also been looking at red hot pokers for the same stretch. Nothing bought yet.
After the sun went down the string lights on the fence came on and we cycled the pool light through its colors — purple, then green, then the blue it usually stays on. The sunset behind the rail went orange for a long while before it quit.
