A Neighborhood Halloween in Late October 2019
Halloween in late October 2019. The kids were getting their costumes sorted just as the afternoon light started to get good. We had one going as Coraline, complete with the iconic yellow raincoat and blue wig, ready to go with her tote bag.
Our other daughter decided on a witch, with a green velvet top, a wide-brimmed black hat, and a wooden broomstick she was pretty proud of. She posed with the skeleton and tombstone we had set up in the front yard rocks among the bougainvillea.
The sun was still up when it was time to meet friends. The group came together on the sidewalk: our Coraline and witch joined by a friend dressed impeccably as Dwight Schrute, another in a full camo outfit, and one in a white hooded costume. Everyone had their trick-or-treat bags ready.
It was a classic suburban Halloween. The houses on the street had pumpkins and spiderwebs out, and the kids were ready to make their rounds. It was just a simple, fun evening of walking the neighborhood.
