A Weekend Walk From Campus to the Coast
We spent a Saturday this April just walking around, starting near the coast. It was a perfectly clear, sunny day, and from the cliffs, we could see people down on the beach and out in the water. The houses up on the bluffs have an incredible view.
Later in the day, we found ourselves wandering through the San Diego State campus. The architecture is really striking, especially the Spanish-style buildings like Hepner Hall with its bell tower, surrounded by huge palm trees and tropical plants. We walked past the Hardy Memorial Tower as well, which stood out against the deep blue sky.
We made our way back to the coast for the evening. By then, a layer of clouds had moved in, changing the light completely. We found a spot along the cliffside path to watch the day end. As the sun started to set, it broke through the clouds, lighting up the wildflowers growing along the bluffs. The whole coastline was bathed in a warm, orange glow. It was a quiet end to a nice day out.
