An August Afternoon Wading in the River
It was a hot Sunday in early August, the kind of day that calls for finding some cold water. We found a spot at a shallow river, clear enough to see all the rocks on the bottom. The sun was bright, lighting up the tall grasses along the banks and filtering through the pine trees.
The water was definitely cold, a sharp contrast to the warm air. She didn't seem to mind, wading right in and exploring the gentle current. She spent most of the afternoon just walking up and down the stream, splashing through the shallows.
We found a big fallen log that made a perfect bridge over a small section of the water. It was a good place to stop and just take in the quiet of the afternoon before heading home.
