Baseball Season and Early Spring Days in San Diego
A few quiet days at home in early April. The weather was a mix of overcast mornings and bright, sunny afternoons. Along the coastal cliffs, wildflowers were blooming, adding some color against the gray-green sea.
The start of baseball season brought a different energy downtown. I passed by Petco Park, where the massive signs for the Padres stand out above the palm trees. It’s a familiar sign that spring is really here.
I spent one afternoon walking around Encinitas, heading down to the coast from the J Street Viewpoint. The sky was a sharp blue and some of the trees were covered in pink blossoms. The tide was high, with waves crashing hard against the rocks near the lifeguard towers. It was a typical sunny day on the coast, with a few surfers out.
I capped off the day with a taco from a local spot. It was a standard stretch of days here, just observing the shift in seasons and the normal rhythm of the city.
