Early June Hiking in Yosemite Valley

I visited Yosemite Valley in early June of 2022. The first thing I saw was Yosemite Falls from across the meadow. It was massive, a huge ribbon of white water cascading down the granite cliffs. The sky was a bit overcast, which gave the whole scene a quiet, immense feeling.

After taking in the view from a distance, I hiked closer to the base of the falls. The power of the water up close is incredible. It thunders down onto a field of enormous rocks, sending spray everywhere. The stream flowing away from it was full and fast from all the snowmelt.

The weather cleared up later in my trip. With the sun out, the valley completely transformed. I spent the rest of the time walking along the Merced River. The water was clear and the valley floor was intensely green. It was a perfect day for photography, with bright light hitting the granite walls and tall pines.
