A Chess Game and a Flight Out of Reno

Got a chess game in at the table before it was time to leave — the walnut set, board still mid-game when we had to pack it up, which is always how it goes on a travel day.

Then the drive down from Truckee to the Reno airport, the usual routine. Southwest again. The gate was slow enough to watch them load carts of boxes onto the plane while we waited to board.

Best part came after takeoff: we passed over Tahoe, and it was mostly under cloud, but the lake showed through a gap with snow still on the ridges around it. Second week of May and the mountains haven't let go of winter yet. Nice to see home from that angle on the way out.
