Late September Days on the Lake with the Dogs
Spent the last weekend of September taking advantage of the clear weather and getting the boat out on the water. It was quiet, with that distinct late-season light. We got the dogs settled in with their harnesses on, and they made themselves comfortable on a pile of towels and blankets in the back.
They're pretty good boat dogs at this point. They mostly just sit and watch the shoreline pass by, occasionally shifting spots to stay in the sun. The water was calm, and we just cruised for a couple of hours, heading towards Emerald Bay. You can see the little island in the middle of the bay in the background of a few shots.
There was a bit of haze lingering over the mountains, but otherwise the sky was clear and blue. It wasn't about doing anything in particular, just being out there. We cut the engine and floated for a while before heading back, leaving a wake behind us as we crossed the bay. A simple, good weekend at home.
