Our Annual Christmas Costume Party in San Marcos

We held our annual Christmas party at our place in San Marcos in mid-December 2017. The lead-up was filled with the usual festive prep. The tree was up, gifts were starting to appear underneath, and my daughter got busy in the kitchen, mixing up some holiday treats in her elf gear.

Once the party got going, the costumes came out. It's become a tradition for us. I was an elf, and my husband played Santa for the evening. Our kids joined in, one as an elf and the other in a cozy turquoise onesie. A friend even showed up in a full pink bunny suit, which was a definite highlight.

It was just a classic backyard party with family and friends. The best part, as always, was seeing the kids' faces. My husband put on the full white beard and handed out some early presents. It's these goofy, simple moments at home that always stick with me the most.
