Annual Christmas Costume Party in San Marcos

Costume party day. The morning went to cookies — one of the girls ran the hand mixer in her elf pajamas and an apron, which turned out to be a preview of her whole evening's outfit.

By the time everyone gathered we had a full lineup: Santa suit, matching elves, and one kid who opted out of the theme entirely in a scaly hooded onesie and would not be talked out of it. A friend showed up in the pink bunny suit from A Christmas Story and committed to it completely.

Later a Santa with the full white wig and curled beard took a seat by the stairs and handed out wrapped presents one at a time. The puppy slept through most of it on a shoulder. There's a Harry & David box of nuts still sitting under the tree that nobody has opened yet.
