Postseason Baseball at AT&T Park in San Francisco
Spent a day in late October 2012 watching the Giants play at what was then AT&T Park. The crowd was already thick outside the Willie Mays Gate when we arrived, a sea of orange and black under the signs.
Inside, the stadium was packed under a perfectly clear blue sky. From our seats, you could see a section of the Bay Bridge beyond the outfield architecture, which is one of the best parts of this particular ballpark. It felt like the entire city was there.
Before the game started, they unfurled an enormous American flag that covered nearly the entire field. It took dozens of people to hold it, and the scale of it against the packed stands was really something to see.
The game started in the bright afternoon sun and continued on after dusk. As the sky darkened, the huge stadium lights came on, illuminating the field. The energy in the stands was constant, with everyone focused on the game playing out below.
