Quiet Summer Days and Evenings at Donner Lake
The last few days of July were pretty standard for summer around here. We had a couple of really nice, calm evenings down by the lake. The sunsets lit up the clouds in these soft yellow and pink tones that reflected on the water, and the mountains across the way went dark. It was quiet, with just a few other boats out, and still enough to just sit on the dock and watch the light fade.
The days were the complete opposite—bright, clear, and warm. The sky was a deep blue with big, puffy clouds rolling over the ridges. It’s always so green up in the forest this time of year, with all the pine trees packed in tightly. It felt like a typical high Sierra summer, quiet and uneventful in the best way.
