Sunsets, Waterfalls, and Early Summer Days

A couple of quiet days at home in early June. The evening of the 6th ended with a nice sunset, casting a warm orange glow over the hills and the river. The clouds had a really interesting, wispy shape.

The next day was clear and sunny. I noticed they'd taken down a large pine tree just down the road. The fresh-cut wood was just lying there. Later in the afternoon, I went for a hike. There are still patches of snow up on the high peaks, and you can see the tram station from the trail.

The goal was the waterfall, which is running really strong right now from all the snowmelt. The water was just roaring over the granite slabs and boulders, sending up a fine mist. I spent a while just watching it, feeling the spray. It was a good way to spend a regular Thursday afternoon here.
