Working From Home with a New Baby, 2007

Just a typical day at home from back in early February 2007. I was working from the home office, which at that point often meant trying to type with a baby on my lap. She seemed to be a pretty serious and observant assistant, watching the screen as I clicked and typed.

When she wasn't helping with work, the colorful activity bouncer was the main attraction. She looked so small surrounded by all those toys, wide-eyed and taking it all in. It kept her occupied for a little while, at least.

The family cat also played a role in the day's entertainment. The two of them would hang out, the cat seeming mostly tolerant of its new, tiny housemate. I managed to capture a perfectly-timed yawn that seemed to sum up the cat's feelings about the whole situation.

The day ended with some quiet time on a play mat on the floor. Just a simple series of moments from a day spent juggling work and a very young child.
