A Coastal Getaway from the Summer of 2001

Looking back at these photos from August 2001 brings back the feeling of the sun and the dry, warm air. We spent our time exploring a rugged coastline, full of dramatic rock formations and the constant sound of the ocean. I remember standing inside a natural stone arch right on the beach, watching the waves roll in through the opening.

The power of the water was incredible. We'd stand on the rocky cliffs and just watch the waves crash, sending huge plumes of white spray into the air. It felt wild and exposed under the bright blue sky. But it wasn't all rugged exploring; there were quiet moments, too, like just relaxing together in the sun.

We also wandered away from the shore to see some of the old stone ruins scattered across the arid landscape. The trip ended with a view from above the coast, looking down at the small town, the turquoise water, and the boats sailing in the bay. It was a simple trip, memorable for the sun, the sea, and that starkly beautiful scenery.
